The Route Eligible for Certification

One of the major Rouvy features is to provide you as much realistic outdoor experience as possible. As we are the open platform and everyone can contribute with the Route, there is a process called “certification.” We're more than happy to receive any uploaded Route. On the other hand, we want to highlight the best ones, so you are able to find these ones more easily. The Library is growing, and, luckily, there are more and more Routes day by day. There is a need to set up some clear rules for new Routes to be certificated.

Process

A Route is uploaded. What is going on in our office? We're checking new Routes every single day and making the first selection based on the quality of the video. Then, the responsible person makes edits in video sync and GPS accuracy (if needed). The Route is ridden by another person, so it´s checked twice. Those two have to say the Route is finalized. And what's next? Voilá, it´s certificated!

Recommendations & Rules

Length

Depends on the type of the Route and the exceptions that are possible.

  • Flats - at least 15k.
  • Climbs - at least 5k.

Video Quality

For right now, we require HD video for the Route to be certificated as we want to bring you the most realistic experience.

Recommendations

  • Sunny weather
  • Avoid much traffic
  • Trying to maintain speed similar to the speed of the cyclist (if you record the Route by car)
  • Trying to avoid steep downhills
  • Insert Splits (Checkpoints)

Examples
Sometimes an example is worth more than a thousand words. Do you want to know what the best Routes should look like? See below and check those Routes which were automatically moved to certification process:
