- Windows WMI broken

Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service (wingmt.exe) is a vital part of the Windows OS. When it is not running or is broken, some parts of Rouvy cannot work: device scan, System Information shows errors, etc.. We strongly recommend you to repair WMI, since many other applications depend on it, too.

To diagnose and repair the WMI, use Microsoft WMIDiag.exe tool, e.g. see this article.

Or, try the following procedure, open cmd.exe as administrator and run:

winmgmt /verifyrepository

- This command verifies WMI.

winmgmt/salvagerepository

- This command verifies WMI and tries to fix it.

winmgmt /salvagerepository

 - Reset the WMI to the initial state. Use this as a last resort! Some data may be lost in WMI and some programs or drivers may need to reinstall to register its services into the WMI.
