TrainingPeaks is a training platform where you or your coach plan your season, and ROUVY is where you ride it.
Connect the two and your planned bike workouts come across to ROUVY, while the rides you finish in ROUVY go back to TrainingPeaks and close themselves off in your calendar.
|
What comes across, and what does not All the bike workouts scheduled in your TrainingPeaks calendar come across, not only today's. You can open next Sunday's session on a Thursday if you want to. They have to be bike workouts built from duration and % FTP. A run, a swim, or a workout written in heart rate, pace or RPE will not appear at all, and you will not see an error explaining why. Planned workouts travel one way, from TrainingPeaks to ROUVY. Your ROUVY training calendar is not pushed back into TrainingPeaks as planned sessions: only your finished activities go that way. |
Connect the two accounts
- go to ROUVY.com and log in;
- click your icon in the top-right corner and choose Connected apps and devices.
- Open the Connected Apps tab, the third one;
- find TrainingPeaks under Available Apps and click Connect;
- log in to TrainingPeaks and allow access for ROUVY.
Once access is granted, the TrainingPeaks card moves up into Connected Apps, at the top of the page.
| If the connection will not go through, your ROUVY account is probably still linked to a different TrainingPeaks account. One ROUVY account connects to one TrainingPeaks account. Disconnect the other one first, then connect the right one. |
Autosync: how your finished rides go back
The connected TrainingPeaks card carries an Autosync toggle, and it is on by default.
- Autosync on: every ride you finish in ROUVY is sent to TrainingPeaks by itself, and you do nothing;
- Autosync off: nothing is sent automatically. You choose which rides to send, one at a time, from the activity itself.
The same card is where you disconnect the two accounts.
TrainingPeaks then processes what arrives and updates the session in your calendar, so a completed workout turns green there.
| Only what was recorded in ROUVY goes to TrainingPeaks. Activities that reached ROUVY from another connected app are not passed on a second time. |
Sending a single ride by hand
- open your training calendar on the Riders Portal. Your TrainingPeaks sessions sit in the same calendar as your rides;
- click the activity to open it;
- click Share at the top of the activity;
- choose TrainingPeaks and click share.
The activity page also holds Export, your graphs for heart rate, cadence and speed, the screenshots taken during the ride, and the detailed statistics.
Where your TrainingPeaks workouts appear
Open Workouts in the left-hand menu of the ROUVY app. With TrainingPeaks connected, a row called TrainingPeaks workouts appears there, holding everything your calendar has scheduled.
Each tile shows the workout name, its duration, its TSS and the coins it is worth. Pick any of them, not just the one planned for today.
|
The Sync button If your coach has just added a session and you cannot see it yet, click Sync at the right end of the TrainingPeaks workouts row. It asks TrainingPeaks for your schedule again, instead of waiting for the next automatic refresh. |
|
Confirm the FTP when ROUVY asks When you open a TrainingPeaks workout, ROUVY may ask you to synchronize your FTP. That happens when the FTP in TrainingPeaks differs from the one in ROUVY. Confirm it. The workout is built from percentages of FTP, so if the two numbers disagree, your trainer holds the wrong watts and the session stops matching what your coach intended. More in FTP. |
Building a workout ROUVY can ride
You or your coach create the workout in TrainingPeaks, and three things decide whether it reaches ROUVY.
- Create it on the TrainingPeaks website, not in the TrainingPeaks mobile app.
- Set the workout type to Bike. Other sports are not shown in ROUVY.
- Build it from duration and % FTP. Click Build Workout and define each segment that way.
A workout written in heart rate, pace or RPE cannot drive the trainer's resistance, so ROUVY does not list it. If your plan is written that way, it has to be rebuilt with power targets before ROUVY can use it.
My workout is not in ROUVY
Almost every missing workout comes down to one of these. Check them in order:
- the sport. It has to be a Bike workout;
- the structure. It has to be built from duration and % FTP. Heart rate, pace and RPE workouts never appear;
- where it was made. Workouts added in the TrainingPeaks mobile app do not come across. Add them on the website;
- the refresh. Click Sync in the TrainingPeaks workouts row;
- your time zone. If it is wrong, ROUVY and your calendar disagree about which day it is: see Set your time zone in ROUVY;
- the connection. Check that TrainingPeaks is still in Connected Apps. If it is not, connect it again.
If all of that is right and the workout still does not appear, write to us and tell us the date of the workout and the email on your TrainingPeaks account. That is what we need to trace it.
