Best practices

Before submitting your route, take a moment to review everything carefully.

Naming your route

route name.png

Your route name must follow the required naming format:

  • Do not use emojis or special characters.
  • Always add the country at the end after a vertical slash (|).
  • Use additional vertical slashes for more detailed location information.

Examples:

  • Alpe d'Huez | France
  • Round Lake | Saskatchewan | Canada

You can also use route names inspired by existing ROUVY routes:

  • Col du Granon | France
  • La Vuelta 2023 | Stage 17 - Alto de L'Angliru
  • Makarora to Haast Pass | New Zealand

Route thumbnail

You can upload a custom thumbnail for your route.

⚠️  Be careful when choosing your thumbnail. Once the route is submitted, the thumbnail cannot be changed.

Before uploading an image, check similar routes in the ROUVY app for inspiration and consistency.

Review your route details

Double-check all route parameters before submission.
These details will be visible to riders in the app.

If something is incorrect or missing, return to the relevant screen and make changes before continuing.

Test your route

Use 'Try in ride' to test the route locally on your computer before submitting it to ROUVY.

This helps you confirm that:

  • The route works correctly.
  • The ride experience feels smooth.
  • All route details display as expected.

Submit your route

When everything is ready, click 'Submit to ROUVY' to send your route for final processing.

After submission, the route is set to Private by default.

 Route visibility
(Route status)

You can control whether other users can find and ride your route.

  • Private

Your route will not appear in search results and is only visible to you.

  • Public

Your route becomes searchable and visible to all ROUVY users.

To make your route public, use the 'Make public' button on the Summary screen.

⚠️ Changes take effect immediately after switching to Public. There is no need to resubmit the route.

You can also see each route’s visibility status directly in your Project list.

That is it! Your route is now part of the ROUVY community.
