ROUVY and STRAVA Troubleshooting

This article covers the most common issues riders have with ROUVY and STRAVA: connecting the two accounts, outdoor rides that do not arrive in ROUVY, and ROUVY rides that do not arrive on STRAVA.

If you cannot find your answer here, do not hesitate to contact our support team.

For general information about the connection between the two, see ROUVY and STRAVA.

There are no STRAVA segments in ROUVY

STRAVA Live Segments are no longer part of ROUVY, and neither are STRAVA segment leaderboards, KOMs and QOMs.

The timed sections on ROUVY routes are now ROUVY Segments, a feature built for virtual riding, with its own trophies and leaderboards inside ROUVY. Your finished rides still upload to STRAVA as activities, exactly as before.

STRAVA Shows ROUVY as Connected, but ROUVY Does Not

This is the most common connection problem, and it almost always comes down to one thing.

Tick every permission box on the STRAVA authorisation screen. STRAVA asks you to approve several permissions separately, and some of them are not ticked by default. If any box is left unticked, STRAVA records the connection on its side, but ROUVY does not receive what it needs and keeps showing STRAVA as not connected.

To fix it:

  • disconnect STRAVA in ROUVY, and revoke ROUVY in your STRAVA settings as well;
  • start the connection again from ROUVY;
  • on the STRAVA screen, select all the checkboxes before you confirm;
  • go back to Connected Apps in your ROUVY profile and check that STRAVA is listed there.

If the connection still fails, your STRAVA account may already be linked to another ROUVY account. In that case, send us your STRAVA ID, the number in the URL of your STRAVA profile after the last forward slash, by submitting a request, and we will sort it out.

My Outdoor Ride Is on STRAVA but Not in ROUVY

Only rides recorded with the STRAVA app on your phone are imported into ROUVY.

This is the single most frequent reason an outdoor ride never appears. If the ride was recorded on a bike computer or a watch, it reaches STRAVA through that device's own connection, and it is not passed on to ROUVY. That applies to all of them: Garmin, Wahoo, Bryton, Sigma, iGPSPORT, Coospo, and smartwatches of any brand.

So a ride imports into ROUVY when:

  • it was recorded in the STRAVA app on your phone;
  • your STRAVA account is connected to ROUVY, with all permissions granted;
  • the activity is a ride, and it is not hidden from your followers on STRAVA.

A ride that did not import cannot be added later

There is no manual import. A .fit or .gpx file cannot be uploaded to ROUVY by hand, and reconnecting STRAVA afterwards does not bring older activities across.

If an outdoor ride matters to you, for example for a challenge with a deadline, record it in the STRAVA app itself and check the same day that it appeared in ROUVY.

What an Imported Outdoor Ride Counts Towards

Outdoor rides earn Career XP, but they do not feed your weekly goals, your training score or indoor challenges.

So a week full of outdoor riding can still show your training score going down, and your weekly goals unmoved. Nothing is broken: those numbers are built from your rides in ROUVY.

Some community challenges do accept outdoor rides. When that is the case, it is stated in the challenge description, so read it before you count on it.

I Cannot See My ROUVY Ride in STRAVA

Two causes account for almost every case.

Two apps connected to STRAVA were recording at the same time, for example ROUVY and Garmin Connect. STRAVA then treats the ride coming from the second app as an outdoor activity, labels it as a morning or evening ride, and your ROUVY ride is lost among them. Delete that ride on STRAVA and upload it again from your Training Calendar.

ROUVY is connected to a different STRAVA account than the one you are looking at. This happens easily if you have ever had two STRAVA profiles. Open Connected Apps in your ROUVY profile, see which STRAVA account is linked there, and check that account's activities.

To send a single ride across by hand, open it in your Training Calendar and click Share under STRAVA. If it reports success and the ride still does not show up on STRAVA, tell us which ride and which STRAVA account, and we will trace it.
