Video edit screen in ROUVY Route Creator

The Video edit screen is where you shape your route into its final form before uploading.

Here, you define the start and finish, remove unwanted sections, and make sure the ride flows smoothly from beginning to end.

The goal is simple: create a clean Start-to-Finish video with consistent forward movement.

Main Tools

Start and end of the video

  • Find a sufficiently long, straight section on the timeline to define the start of the route and click on Screenshot 2026-04-27 at 14.10.01.png to set.

  • Next, find the desired section on the timeline to define the end of the route, then click on  Screenshot 2026-04-27 at 14.10.26.png to set.

IMPORTANT: For technical reasons, RRC will add 10 seconds of video before the start and after the finish. Make sure the ride is continuous, without any stopping or restarting.

Cut inside the video

  • Find the beginning of the section you want to cut on the timeline and click on Screenshot 2026-04-27 at 14.11.24.png to cut.
  • Then locate the end of the section and click on Screenshot 2026-04-27 at 14.11.31.png to cut.
  • You can always reselect the cut and adjust its start and end points.

⚠️  Carefully remove all unnecessary parts of the video, such as:

  • standing still for a period of time,
  • overlapping segments from reshooting,
  • any redundant footage.

Remove still sections

You must create a clean video track with continuous camera movement!
There must be no stationary moments in the video.

RRC automatically detects areas with insufficient movement and marks them with this icon:

Use the cut tools to precisely remove these sections.

Remove backward movement

⚠️ Backward movement is not allowed.
Ensure the motion is always forward throughout the entire video.

Pay close attention during editing to maintain smooth, forward progression.

Remove camera jumps

⚠️ Ensure that any spatial jumps are as small as possible.

RRC will block jumps longer than 30 meters and mark them in red with a warning icon:

Use the timeline indicators

At the bottom of the timeline, you will find two color-coded indicators:

  • GPS Accuracy
Shows the quality of GPS data along the route.
Multiple red sections indicate that the route may be inaccurate or may fail to process.
  • Stabilization Quality
Indicates how stable the video is.
Keep this indicator in the green range as much as possible. Red sections signal poor recording quality and may result in failing upload.

Tips and tricks

  • Work faster with lower-resolution video
If you imported all related files (including *.LRV), you can switch to a lower resolution in the editor. This makes editing smoother and more responsive.
  • When finished, click 'Continue' to get to the Summary step.
