Clubs

A Club is a small, focused group of riders who want to train, compete, and stay motivated together.

Clubs are designed to encourage accountability, friendly competition, and social interaction. Club members can chat, share updates, compare progress on leaderboards, organize rides, and stay connected with teammates.

Clubs provide a dedicated space for small groups of riders who want to train together, compare progress, and stay connected between rides.

You can only be a member of one Club at a time.

Overview: Clubs vs Communities

Although Clubs and Communities both help riders connect, they serve different purposes.

Leaderboards Includes a club leaderboard.

Additional Club-versus-Club leaderboards may be added in the future.
No leaderboards.
Communication Dedicated club feed and club chat. Community feed for posts and discussions.

For more information about Communities, see the dedicated Communities article.

Creating a Club

Once you reach the required rider level and have enough coins available, you can create your own Club through Rider's Portal.

Current requirements to be able to create a Club:

  • Rider Level 10
  • 5,000 earned coins

During setup, you’ll be asked to choose a Club name, upload a Club logo or image, add a short description, and select the membership access type for your Club.

IMPORTANT: an automatic filter reviews each new Club.

If it flags the name or description as impolite, the Club is rejected and you'll be asked to rename it or adjust the description. You cannot invite members into a Club that is rejected or pending approval, so it's worth getting the name and description right before you move on.

You can create a Club from the ROUVY app or the web, but Rider's Portal on the web is the primary place to create and manage Clubs. The app redirects to Rider's Portal, and the web gives you the full setup and management experience in one place.

Create a Club on the ROUVY web:

  • Open the Social section in Rider's Portal top navigation bar, or use the direct link.
  • Click on the 'Create' button on the top-right and complete the setup steps.

Create a Club in the ROUVY app:

  • Open the 'Social' tab from the left-hand menu.
  • Locate the 'My Clubs & Communities' section.
  • Select Create Club.
  • You'll be redirected to Rider's Portal to complete the setup.

Club membership types

When creating a Club, you can choose how new members join.

OPEN Any rider can join the Club immediately. No invitation or approval is required.
APPROVAL REQUIRED Riders must submit a request to join the Club. The Club owner can then approve or decline the request.
To help reduce spam, riders can only have one active Club join request at a time. If a request is declined, it can only be submitted it can only be submitted one additional time.

Inviting members

Once a Club has been created, Club owners can invite riders directly from the Club page.

The invitation system prioritizes:

  • Existing ROUVY friends,
  • Rider search.

Club members can also invite others by sharing the Club invite link or join link.

Managing a Club

Club owner permissions

Club owners have full control over Club settings and membership management, primarily through Rider's Portal on the web.

Club owners can manage all key parts of their Club. They can:

  • edit Club details and settings,
  • approve or decline join requests,
  • invite or remove members,
  • pin posts, delete posts or comments,
  • transfer ownership, and delete the Club.
To view all Club members, open the 'Club Members' tab below the Club leaderboard.

Managing Club members

Club management is available through Rider's Portal.

Membership requests If your Club accepts join requests, you'll receive a notification whenever a rider requests membership. You can then approve or decline the request from anywhere in the ROUVY ecosystem: the Companion App, the ROUVY app, or the web.
Inviting members You can invite riders to join your Club from the Club management page in Rider's Portal. Invited riders receive a notification and can choose whether to accept or decline the invitation.
Removing members Club owners can remove members from the Club at any time.
Once removed, the rider loses access to Club features, including the Club chat, Club feed, and Club leaderboard.

Transferring ownership

If you no longer wish to manage the Club, you can transfer ownership to another Club member.

The new owner immediately receives full management permissions and is notified automatically. No approval is required.

A Club owner cannot leave a Club until ownership has been transferred to another member.

To transfer ownership:

  • Open Club settings.
  • Select 'Edit Club'.
  • Locate and select 'Transfer Ownership'. This takes you to Rider's Portal to complete the transfer.
  • Choose the new owner.

Deleting a Club

Deleting a Club permanently removes the Club and all associated membership data.

When a Club is deleted:

  • All members are removed.
  • Pending invitations are discarded.
  • Pending join requests are discarded.

Leaving a Club

Club members can leave a Club at any time through the ROUVY app or Rider's Portal.

Because riders can only belong to one Club at a time, joining another Club automatically removes them from their current Club.

Finding and joining a Club

Clubs can be discovered through the ROUVY AR App, Companion App, and Rider's Portal. Riders can browse available Clubs, search for specific Clubs by name, and view Club details before joining.

Approval-required Clubs may still appear in search results, but joining them depends on the Club's membership settings. Some Clubs allow riders to join immediately, while others require an approval from the Club owner.

Once a join request is approved, or an invitation is accepted, the rider becomes a Club member and gains access to Club features, including the Club feed, Club chat, and Club leaderboard.

To join a Club:

  • Open the Club page.
  • Send a join request or accept an invitation.
  • Wait for approval if required.

If you are already a member of another Club, you must leave that Club before joining a new one.

If you attempt to accept an invitation while already in a Club, ROUVY will guide you through leaving your current Club first.

Club features

Club feed

Screenshot 2026-06-04 at 11.27.41.png

The Club feed allows members to stay connected and share updates with one another.

Members can:

  • Create posts
  • Comment on posts
  • Share ride plans and updates

Pinned posts remain visible at the top of the feed.

Nested replies and user mentions are not currently supported.

Club leaderboard

Each Club includes a weekly leaderboard that allows members to compare their activity.

Leaderboard metrics include:

  • Total distance ridden, both indoor and outdoor
  • Elevation climbed
  • Active riding time

Counting outdoor distance alongside indoor means the leaderboard still reflects what members are doing when they ride outside and aren't active on ROUVY.

Additional Club-versus-Club leaderboards may be introduced in future updates.

Club chat

Screenshot 2026-06-04 at 11.29.46.png

Club chat provides a private communication channel for Club members outside of Community discussions and in-ride chat.

It gives members a dedicated space to stay connected between rides, coordinate group activities, discuss training plans, share updates, and support one another.

Unlike Community discussions, Club chat is limited to Club members only, helping conversations stay focused and relevant to the group.

Club members can access Club chat in the ROUVY App and in the ROUVY Companion App.

Club chat is available outside of rides and can also be accessed during rides through the Companion App.

⚠️ Important information

  • Club chat is separate from in-ride chat.
  • Messages do not appear directly on the ride screen.
  • Messages are stored for a limited time.
  • Message length limits apply.

Club chat is self-moderated. If a member behaves inappropriately, the Club owner can remove them from the Club.

Riding with Club members

ROUVY highlights Club activity throughout the platform.

You can:

  • See which Club nearby riders belong to
  • See which Clubs your friends belong to
  • Identify Club members in nearby rider lists
