Communities

Communities are open groups where riders can connect around shared interests, events, brands, or topics.

Unlike Clubs, Communities are designed for discussion and content sharing rather than competition. They provide a place to discover news, follow conversations, connect with like-minded riders, and stay up to date with the topics that matter most to you.

You can join multiple Communities at the same time.

Overview: Communities vs Clubs

  Club Community
Purpose Join a small, active group working toward shared goals, competing with fellow members or other clubs, and participating in club activities. Connect with like-minded riders, follow official channels, join discussions, and stay updated on events and topics of interest.

Member limit Up to 30 members per club. Unlimited members.

Creating and Deleting a Community

Creating a Community

You can create a Community through the Rider's Portal once you reach the required rider level and have enough coins available.

The requirement is rider level 10 and 5,000 earned coins.

During setup, you'll be asked to:

  • Choose a Community name,
  • Upload a Community logo or image,
  • Add a short description,
  • Select feed posting permissions, described below.

After a Community is created, it goes through a review before becoming publicly available.

An automated review checks the name and description for inappropriate content. If something is flagged, the owner is prompted to edit it before the Community can go live.

ROUVY may also reject a Community if it duplicates one that already exists. For example, if "Giro updates" already exists and someone creates "Fans of Giro" to serve the same purpose, the newer Community can be rejected as a duplicate.

You can create a Community:

  • In the ROUVY app:
click the 'Social' tab in the left-hand menu, scroll down, then select 'Get started' in the 'Creating a club or Community' field. You will be redirected to the Rider's Portal to go through all the steps.

  • On the ROUVY web:
use this direct link or navigate to the Communities section in Rider's Portal.

Deleting a Community

You can delete the Community in Rider's Portal.

When a Community is deleted:

  • All members are removed from the Community.
  • Community content is no longer available.

Community feed settings

When creating a Community, you can choose who is allowed to publish posts in the feed.

OPEN POSTING Any Community member can create posts and participate in discussions.
CURATED POSTS ONLY

Only the Community owner and approved curators can publish posts.

All Community members can still view and comment on posts.

Roles in a Community

Community owners

Community owners can manage all key aspects of their Community. They can:

  • Edit Community details and settings,
  • Delete feed posts or comments,
  • Appoint Community curators,
  • Add members to a blacklist,
  • Delete the Community.

Owners can manage their Community through the Rider's Portal.

Community members

Community members can view the Community feed and a list of other members.

The member list also identifies Community owners and curators.

Community curators

Community owners can appoint other Community members as curators.

Curators can create posts in Communities that use the 'Curated posts only' setting.

This allows multiple trusted members to help manage and publish Community content.

 Blacklisted members

Community owners can add members to a blacklist to help prevent spam or inappropriate behavior.

Blacklisted members remain in the Community but cannot create new posts.

Finding and joining a Community

You can search for Communities in:

  • the ROUVY app,
  • the Companion App, and
  • on Rider's Portal.
All Communities are open to join.

To join a Community:

  1. Open the Community page.

Unlike Clubs, you can join multiple Communities at the same time.

You can leave a Community at any time from any platform.
