In ROUVY multiplayer events, timing needs to be precise so everyone starts together and the race stays fair. If your device time is out of sync with the server time, you may not be able to join an event.
ROUVY uses a standard public internet time service (Google Network Time Protocol, NTP, read more here) to keep event timing accurate across all riders.
When this issue happens
Most of the time, your device will sync automatically if you enter the event early enough.
Problems usually occur when:
- You join very close to the event start
- You try to join shortly after the event has started
- Your device time differs significantly from real (server) time
How to fix it
To make sure your device stays in sync, check the following:
-
Enable automatic time sync
Turn on automatic date and time in your device settings so it updates from internet time servers. Take a look at instructions for Windows here and iOS here. -
Check your time zone
Make sure the correct time zone is selected. A wrong setting can block event entry. -
Allow time synchronization (NTP)
Ensure firewalls or security software are not blocking NTP, which your device needs to update its clock. More info on NTP is here. -
Disable VPN or proxy (temporarily)
These can interfere with time sync or multiplayer communication. -
Use a stable internet connection
A weak or unstable connection can prevent proper synchronization.

IMPORTANT Joining the warm-up a few minutes early gives your device time to sync automatically and helps avoid last-second issues. |
