Download the Route Before the Ride

ROUVY recommends downloading the route video before the ride, as it solves such issues as connection dropouts, App crashes, and more.

This article guides you through the steps of a smooth download and shows how to manage your downloaded routes.

What to Check Before Downloading

To download the route successfully, you need to check the following three things:

  • The actual speed of your Internet connection:
    Slower Internet speeds or an unstable home Wi-Fi signal will negatively impact video download speeds and success. Your Internet connection speed may vary due to the position of your trainer at home (especially if it is located in the attic or basement). Take a look at this article to learn more.
  • Your Firewall and Antivirus permissions:
    ROUVY App can be blocked by your Firewall and Antivirus, thus making it impossible to download the route. Please check this article to learn more.
  • The storage on your device:
    If there is not enough storage on your device for downloading the video, you'll get an error that the download has failed. Please choose a lower-quality download or delete other routes to be able to download again.

Where to Download the Video

Click on the route of your choice, then click on the download button in the route details:

For successful download, you have to choose the quality of the downloaded route.

Important: the better the quality - the more storage the route takes on your device.

After you've chosen your quality, you can see the progress of the download in place of the download button.

If you click on that, you will be taken to the list of your downloaded routes, where you can see a list of videos.

You can also cancel your downloads or delete the video in the same list.

You can always access the list of your downloaded videos through the In-app Settings,
more information and instructions are in the section below, or in this article.

Tips for a Smooth Download

The speed of the download ultimately depends on your Internet connection speed.

However, there are a couple of things you can try to ensure your files download successfully:

  • when downloading a file, do not switch to another app while the file is downloading;
  • ensure there is more than enough free space on your device for the video file;
  • do not store too many routes, delete them when possible, you can always re-download them;
  • If your downloads are taking too long, try downloading the routes in lower quality;
  • Reduce traffic on your network: close the other app, such as YouTube, or Netflix.

Where to Find a Downloaded Route

In the ROUVY App click at the top right corner on the SETTINGS icon.

Then click on the VIDEO icon, and you can see all your downloaded videos.
