This article walks you through every setting you can change directly in the ROUVY app.
Your avatar's appearance is covered separately, in the Customization section.
The in-app settings are split into two areas:
- Profile settings: your recent activities, connected apps, weekly goals and more.
- Ride settings: camera angles, graphics quality, ghost riders and other display options.
Both are explained in detail below.
|
Some settings live on the web, not in the app Account details such as your gender or your password can only be changed on the ROUVY website. Our Riders portal guide walks you through it. Your date of birth is a special case. Since clubs and communities launched, you can no longer change it yourself: send us a request and one of our agents will do it for you. |
Where to Find Settings in the App
The two areas sit in different places: the profile buttons are on your profile screen, while the ride settings live behind a single Settings button.
Profile Settings
You reach your in-app profile settings by clicking your Profile Icon in the top-left corner of the app:
This opens a screen with several action buttons. Jump straight to the one you need:

Ride Settings
All the ride settings in the app are gathered in one place and split into four tabs:
- General,
- Ride,
- Graphics, and
- Controls.
General
Interface |
Adjust the overall look and feel of the ROUVY app. Ride Screen customization: choose which metrics and elements appear on your screen during a ride. See Customize Your Riding Screen for the full list. Workout Screen customization: the same thing for workouts, so you keep the numbers that matter to you in view. Menu UI Scale: change the size of the in-app menus and text. Useful if you ride far from your screen. |
General |
Sounds: control in-app audio, including ambient sounds, notifications and ride effects. Language: select the language of the ROUVY app interface. |
Feature |
Panoramic view: switch to a wide camera angle for a more immersive ride. Auto 360 camera: let the camera rotate around your avatar automatically. Recommend next ride: get route suggestions based on your recent rides. Warm up and cool down: add an automatic warm-up and cool-down to your workouts. Wi-Fi sensor connectivity: manage how your sensors connect over Wi-Fi. |
Activity |
Take snapshots automatically: capture a few snapshots during your ride. They are saved to your activity and shared to the Riders portal and to Strava if you have it connected. You can still take snapshots manually at any time with the ROUVY Companion App. Save warmup and cooldown: keep your warm-up and cool-down as part of the saved activity. |
More settings |
Opens your Rider Profile settings on the ROUVY website. |
Reset all app settings |
Restores every app setting to its original default. Use it if you are troubleshooting or simply want a fresh start. Your account, your rides and your downloaded routes are not affected. |
Ride
Ghost riders |
Ride against ghost riders to push your limits. A ghost is your own previous attempt on the same route, riding next to you in real time. |
Reality Level |
Adjust how realistic the terrain feels by changing the resistance your trainer applies on climbs. Keep in mind that riding below 100% keeps your result out of leaderboards, segments and challenges. More on this in Unified Riding Mode. |
Camera distance |
Set how close or how far the camera sits behind your avatar during a ride. |
Hide other users |
Choose whether to show or hide other riders on the route if you prefer a quieter road. |
ROUVY Route Segments |
Show or hide segments and their leaderboards so you can track your performance on specific parts of a route. More on ROUVY Segments here. |
Graphics
Graphics quality |
Adjust the visual detail of routes, environments and avatars to match what your device can handle. Higher settings look better but ask more of your hardware. |
Video quality |
Set the video streaming quality. Higher settings look sharper but need a stronger internet connection. You can choose 540, 720, 1080 (HD), 1440 (2K) or Auto. For the smoothest ride we recommend Auto, which matches the quality to your connection as you ride. |
Video hardware acceleration |
Let your device decode video on its graphics card instead of its processor. It usually improves playback and reduces stuttering, so leave it on unless you are troubleshooting. |
Controls
The Controls tab is where you assign buttons. It lists every action ROUVY can trigger, together with the button that currently does it, for each connected device.
The tab stays disabled until a controller is connected. On desktop your keyboard counts as one and is set up automatically, so there you can start remapping right away.
Device |
Choose which connected controller you are editing. Layouts are saved per device and do not transfer between devices or platforms, so every controller keeps its own set-up. |
Ride controls |
Shift up, shift down, pause and resume. |
Menu controls |
Navigate up, down, left and right, select, and back. |
Ride features |
Screenshot, kudos, create lap, hide interface, skip workout segment, toggle ERG mode and chat. An action that does not apply to your current ride simply does nothing: create lap and hide interface work on a route, skip workout segment and toggle ERG mode work in a workout. |
Reset to default |
Restores the default layout of the device you are editing. Your other controllers are not affected. |
Which controllers ROUVY supports, how to connect them and the full list of default keyboard shortcuts are covered in Remote controllers and control mapping.
