  • Meet new people, make friends, and enjoy the ride.
  • No podium pressure, just good vibes and shared experiences.

You can find Group Rides in the Events section of the ROUVY app. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version for the best experience.

The elastic band effect

To stay next to the Group Ride leader, one must produce the same effort/watts as the leader.

If you are getting behind or cycling much quicker than a leader, it feels like being connected to the leader by an elastic band.

This means the farther behind you are, the more assistance you get, just like an elastic band pulling you back when it’s stretched tight. Riders further from the leader receive more help to catch up, while those close behind get the least assistance.

This also works in the other direction: if you push ahead and try to ride faster than the leader, the elastic band will begin to resist. You’ll need to put in 20–30% more effort to stay ahead, and the pull will gradually increase, making it harder to break away.

You'll also see an on-screen indicator showing your position relative to the leader (in seconds ahead or behind), along with the effort savings you're gaining thanks to the elastic band support.

So, if you're looking for a chill ride, stay further back. Want a workout? Tuck in close behind the leader. Either way, the algorithm ensures you’ll stay connected, and no one gets dropped.

Earning Coins for Group Rides

You can earn coins by participating in Group Rides. However, the rules for receiving rewards differ between official ROUVY Group Rides and user-created Group Rides.

IMPORTANT!
You will only receive coins if you do not use teleportation during the Group Ride, i.e., do not manually move your position pin.

Coins for official ROUVY Group Rides

Official ROUVY Group Rides have a fixed amount of coins awarded upon Group Ride completion.
You can see the exact amount directly on the Group Ride tile in the preview or in the Group Ride details view.
