ROUVY Segments

ROUVY Segments are predefined parts of a route (from point A to point B) that highlight competitive and performance-focused moments during your ride.

They bring extra motivation with time-based challenges, friendly competition, and progress tracking.

Please note: ROUVY Segments are available on all routes and events, except Group Rides and Races.

Update your ROUVY app to the newest version to use ROUVY segments.

ROUVY Segment Types

Segments are automatically placed on the most popular routes and come in three main types:

Climb Segment

A sustained uphill effort from the base to the summit.

These segments are categorized by their difficulty.

Sprint Segment

A short, high-speed effort placed near the route finish line.

Segments length is between 200–500 meters.

Rolling Segment

A section with mixed terrain (gentle climbs, short ramps, or rolling hills) that rewards pacing and strategy.

Segments length is longer than 1 km.

Average segment grade is about 1–3%.

How Segments Work

Segment Guidelines

Just a heads-up about a couple of things that can affect how segments and leaderboards appear during your ride:

  • If you move the pin manually to any point on the route profile, segments will no longer be shown and you won't be included in the leaderboards for that ride.

  • If you ride with Reality Level set below 100%, segments will also disappear.

  • Good news though: if your Reality Level is higher than 100%, segments and leaderboards will still work. Just keep in mind that you're riding with more resistance than others.

Start of the Segment

You’ll see a short pre-notification before the segment begins, showing:

  • Segment length, elevation, and grade
  • Leaderboard preview (friends, PR, KOM/QOM, or time to beat)

Once you cross the start line, the segment interface activates with distance remaining, elapsed time, and avatars on screen.

During the Segment

Avatars appear to represent your own results, your friends’ performances, and the top riders. You can also see different riders in the leaderboard:

Avatar Type Avatar Color in a Leaderboard Description
KOM/QOM Yellow/ Crown in a leaderboard This avatar shows the fastest time on this segment in the last 90 days.
Rider PR  Blue in a leaderboard Your personal best represented as an avatar on the segment.
Beat Me  Blue in a leaderboard This is a simulated challenge avatar to motivate you on this segment.
If there is no Personal Record yet on this segment, this avatar will be roughly 90% of your FTP.
Friends’ PRs Marked with a person and a star icon panacek a star.png in the leaderboard These avatars are your friends’ best results. Beat them if you can!
Real riders  Seen white in a leaderboard Other live riders currently on the route are also visible on each segment.

Finishing the segment

When you cross the finish line of the segment, you're done with it.
Then:

  • A pop-up shows your rank againt your friends' positions, your PR status, and trophies earned.
  • You’ll see visual feedback for your result.
  • Your performance is saved and added to the rolling 90-day leaderboard.

Segment Rewards

Segment Leaderboards

ROUVY's segment leaderboards are designed to keep things fair, fun, and competitive on every route.

Gender-Specific Rankings

Segment leaderboards are gender-specific. King of the Mountain (KOM) and Queen of the Mountain (QOM) titles are awarded separately to the top male and female riders.

During a ride, leaderboard data and avatars are shown based on the rider’s gender. To view the overall results, check the full segment leaderboards on the web.

Types of Segment Leaderboards

ROUVY uses several types of leaderboards to suit different needs:

Friends Leaderboard Shows each friend’s single best time on a segment.
90-Day Leaderboard Highlights the best performances from all users over the past 90 days.
Rider Passes Stores your complete personal history of every segment you've ridden.
Full Segment Leaderboards Includes all-time rider history, friends' best times, and the 90-day leaderboard.

Trophies

Trophies are awards given to riders who finish in the Top 10 on a segment (or route) leaderboard. They recognize outstanding performance, either relative to your personal record (PR) or in competition with global leaderboards.

Please note that to qualify for the leaderboards and earn trophies, you must complete the segment without teleporting and with the reality level set to 100%.

You’re free to teleport elsewhere on the route, but the segment itself must be ridden in full at 100% reality and without moving your position pin.

Key Principles

  • Performance-based: Trophies are not random. You’ll earn them when your ride ranks among the top 10 times.

  • Gender-specific display: Male and female trophies, leaderboards, and in‑ride avatars reflect the rider’s gender, ensuring fair recognition.

  • One rider, many trophies.
You can collect multiple trophies across different segments or routes, and your can earn multiple trophies for a single segment if you ride it more than once.

Each time you place in the top 10 or beat your personal record (PR), you’ll earn another trophy for that effort.

Where to See Your Trophies

You’ll find all your earned trophies in the Trophies tab in the ROUVY app.

  •  Click on the top-left corner menu and choose 'Profile'.
  • The trophies tab is directly under the Achievements tab.
  • Click on 'Show More' to see all your trophies.

For each trophy, you'll see:

  • Timestamp when you achieved the result,
  • Trophy icon and short description (for example, '1st place', 'PR beaten', etc.)
  • Your time on the segment or route
  • The name of the segment or route where you earned the trophy

Once the trophy is earned, it is your to keep.
If you ride the same segment again and get another trophy, it will be added to the list.

This gives you a clear, chronological showcase of your best rides.

Pro Tips:

  • Explore less popular or new routes to find news segments for the trophies.
  • Target segments at your performance level but aim to push your PR.
