Teleport moves you forward to another point on the route without riding the distance in between.
Use it to reach a climb you want to train on, to catch up with a friend, or to ride one particular ROUVY Segment without covering the whole route first.
|
Teleport works only during a ride The teleport pin becomes available once your ride is running. If nothing happens when you try to use it, your ride has not started yet — start riding first, then teleport. |
How to Teleport
Move the position pin along the route profile at the bottom of your riding screen.
- As you move the pin, you see a video preview of the point you are aiming at, so you can tell what you are teleporting into.
- The pin also shows the exact distance remaining from that point to the finish.
- Release the pin to jump there. Your avatar continues from the new position.
Nothing Happens When I Teleport
This almost always means the ride is not running yet.
Teleport needs an active ride. Sitting on the route detail screen, or standing still after the countdown, is not enough — start pedaling, wait until your avatar is moving, and the pin will respond.
If your avatar is not moving at all, that is a different problem. See Avatar is not moving.
What Teleporting Does to Your Results
Teleporting skips part of the route, so anything that depends on riding that part in full is affected.
- ROUVY Segments: the segments you skip or teleport through are not shown and do not count toward the leaderboards. A segment you ride in full, without teleporting, still counts. More in ROUVY Segments.
- Trophies and segment leaderboards: the segment itself has to be ridden in full, at 100% reality level, and without moving your position pin.
- Challenges: a challenge route has to be ridden in full in one go, so a ride with a teleport in it is not counted towards the Challenge. More in Challenges.
- Group Ride coins: you only receive coins if you do not teleport during the Group Ride. More in ROUVY Group Rides.
Reality level is a separate setting with its own effect on eligibility. Both are explained in Unified Riding Mode.
Jumping to a Friend Counts as Teleporting
Joining a friend further along the route is a teleport, because it skips the part of the route between you.
You get a notification explaining this before it happens. If their route is part of a challenge, a dialog asks whether you would like to start the challenge from the beginning instead. More in Friends on ROUVY.
Riding a Single ROUVY Segment
You are free to teleport elsewhere on the route. What matters is the segment itself.
So you can teleport straight to the start of a climb, ride that climb in full at 100% reality level without touching the pin again, and still earn trophies and appear on the segment leaderboard.
