Coins and Experience

Starting from ROUVY App 2.28.0 prepare to jump on your bike with Coins to collect and Experience to gain.

Now you progress in your ROUVY Career by gaining Experience while collecting Coins to spend on customizing your AVATAR.

This article explains the difference between the two, as well as the ways to gain both, and what they are useful for.

The difference between coins and experience

NOTE: Legacy users get the same amount of Experience points as they previously had Coins as a head start.
After that initial doubling, the rules of gaining Coins and Experience are the same for everyone.

The difference is rather simple:

  • EXPERIENCE points give you the possibility to progress in your ROUVY Career, while
  • COINS can be spent customizing your Avatar.

You can see both your COINS and ROUVY Career level directly on your dashboard:

To get more details about your XP points and Career progression, click on your icon in the top left corner and then click Profile.

This way you can see your Career overview.

How to get coins and experience

You get your Experience for any activity in ROUVY: for races, challenges, workouts, everything.

Pay attention to the experience counter to the right of the screen as you cycle.

You get your coins for riding a route, a workout (any type of workout, including FTP tests), and even for events (group rides and races).

You can see how many coins you get for directly on the route tile:

With the newest release of the app, you can earn coins for every kilometer you ride on a route, even if you stop before finishing it.

If you leave a route early, you can return at any time to earn the remaining coins. When you restart the same route, you’ll have the option to resume from your last completed point, with the remaining distance and coin reward clearly shown.

Important notes:

  • There’s no minimum distance required.
We calculate coins proportionally to the distance you complete, so every effort counts.
  • We track progress per user and per route, and sync it across all your sessions and devices.
  • Once you finish the remaining distance, we grant any remaining coins and mark the route as completed.
  • Completing a route in a single session does not provide extra rewards beyond the total coin value assigned to that route.

Coins for events calculation

For official ROUVY events, the coin reward value is fixed and displayed directly on the event tile:

For user-created events, the coin reward is calculated using the following method:

Completion Coins:
the number of coins for completing the route

Participant coins:
additional coins based on the number of participants who started the event

Calculation for the participant coins is as follows:

The number of users who started the event: The amount of additional Participant coins:
11-20 100
21-30 150
31-40 200
41-50 250
51-100 300
101-200 400
201-500 500
501+ 1000
