Corner Braking

We’re excited to introduce a new feature that dynamically adjusts your speed as you navigate sharp turns on virtual routes.
Just like in real life, you’ll feel a natural deceleration when entering a corner and a smooth acceleration as you exit.
This enhancement brings a whole new level of realism, especially on downhill routes and winding roads.

How Does Corner Braking Work?

The new feature brings some important enhancements to your virtual cycling experience:

  • As you approach sharp turns, the system decreases your speed, just as it would in real life. The system calculates the perfect speed based on the road’s curvature.
It mimics the physics of outdoor cycling, where managing speed in corners is a key skill.

  • The speed adjustment is automatic. The system automatically adjusts your speed, there is no need for any manual inputs.

  • Corner braking visual indicators in the top-left corner will guide you through the curve.
You will see the following braking phases:
    • Braking is approaching
    • Braking in progress
    • Exiting the braking phase

  • Starts and finishes are excluded: the system is deactivated for the first and last 500 meters of each route, letting you enjoy those thrilling initial sprints and dramatic finishes!

IMPORTANT
Introducing corner braking means you might be slower on the routes with multiple turns.
However, this feature also removes the maximum speed limit of 72 km/h, allowing you to go even faster on straight sections!
